This weekend, sound, art, and (most importantly) fun collide, to form an incredible interactive installation at awesome underground venue/gallery/cinema/cafe/skatepark House Of Vans.
Located underneath Waterloo station (well, kinda) HOV is a sprawling labyrinth of exposed brick arches, split into distinct sections. It’s open to the public every day, and is usually completely free! Be sure to check out their website here for listings of other future events, location details, etc.
Now, back to the Polyphonic Playground 🙂
Originally commissioned by the Fashion Space Gallery and London College of Fashion, communication design team Studio PSK decided to collaborate with musician and beat-boxer extraordinaire, Reeps One for this installation inspired by the inherent joy of using a playground as a child.
As you can see in these photos from their show in Milan, we can expect full adult-scale swings, slides, and climbing frames, all covered in subtle midi triggers, to basically create a giant synthesizer! OH, SO MUCH YES!!!
Check out this short video below to catch a glimpse into how it works, and the thought processes behind such an idea.
This incredible installation kicks off from Saturday 30th of January, and runs through to Sunday 21st of February.
Expect our exclusive pics from the private view this weekend – see you there!
