Last night, two worlds that seemed so different, came together in a riot of colour, culture, and music. It was a sound clash as well as a pattern clash.
Eley Kishimoto, the self-proclaimed “Patron Saints of Print”, are husband and wife fashion design team Mark Eley and Wakako Kishimoto. Founded in 1992, they are now responsible for some of the worlds most famous high-end fashion prints that we all know and love.
It seemed strange for Vans to enlist this avant-garde duo to collaborate on their latest collection, but then again, Eley and Kishimoto are from two completely different worlds themselves. One could even go as far as to say that perhaps an harmonious clash is the entire ethos behind EK… It’s certainly worked for them so far, and this new collab is no different.
And the “harmonious clash” continued with last night’s launch party – grime meets skate; street fashion meets high fashion; London meets Tokyo.
The House Of Vans venue was decked out with a glorious myriad of colours, patterns, lights, and shapes. It was as though one was entering a different world, one where anything is possible…
It’s safe to say a good time was had by all, and many thanks to everyone who helped bring these different worlds together in such a wonderful union – Vans, Eley Kishimoto, House Of Vans, and Canoe Inc.
Anyway, please check out the rest of the pics below, because, as we all know, a picture speaks a thousand words 🙂
