If you missed out on the Sneakersnstuff London 1 year anniversary party on Thursday, then you missed out BIG TIME.
We arrived just as the Friends & Family BBQ was getting underway, and it’s safe to say it really was a “who’s who” of the current European streetwear scene. I won’t name names, but let’s just say that Peter Jansson has a fair few friends in high places 🙂
The BBQ was off the chain, with burgers, sausages, and jerk chicken all cooked to perfection. The free bar was offering a wide selection; Alska Cider from Stockholm, Estrella Damm from Barcelona, and then the usual selection of spirits and mixers.
Before long the main event had begun, and the doors opened at 9pm. DJ Barely Legal was first up on the decks, laying down an energetic mix of future house, garage, bassline, and grime. Next up was Siobhan Bell – she kept it gully with a set of the latest trap bangerz to get the crowd proper turnt.
But it wasn’t until Semtex took to the stage that the party really started. Semtex was on that rapid-fire mix tip, chopping and changing between tunes to get the crowd going before the main event.
Ghostface was coming straight from the Wu gig in Brixton, so didn’t make it to the stage before midnight, but it was worth the wait. Joined by Inspectah Deck and Cappadonna, Ghostface wasted no time in getting to the nitty gritty. He rolled out all the classics, as you would expect, the only problem being his slightly excessive insistence on cutting the end of every song and flowing acapella.
All in all, an absolutely incredible evening, and one we won’t be forgetting in a hurry. Peter and his whole team have done themselves proud, even showing the UK boys how it should be done.
Many thanks for the invite guys! It’s safe to say Sneakersnstuff London is here to stay, and the word on the street is Sneakersnstuff Paris is next…!
Mad love from NeverNotOut!!!
